I don’t think I need to remind everyone how hot it was outside on July 6th so let me tell you how PERFECT it was instead. The forecast all week called for rain during our portrait time. I was prepared with 10 white umbrellas and one cute, clear bubble umbrella for the couple. It started to rain pretty heavily while they were getting ready in separate rooms but I remained positive as I knew we were going to get beautiful images regardless but I could tell Melissa was disappointed.
We traveled to the ceremony which was held at St. Joseph’s in Rush. Such a cute church! I love white painted churches. Is that weird? The ceremony was short, sweet, and meaningful and the pastor had such a charming, funny personality! He really made the heat worth it!
Directly after the ceremony was portrait time and it was perfect timing with rain because it stopped immediately and the sun came out. When does that ever happen? I swear July 6th was meant to be their day! We took some portraits in front of the church and headed over to the reception area at Ravenwood Golf Course in Victor, NY.
Ravenwood is a beautiful location for weddings. They have a banquet room with beautiful big windows and sliding glass doors to the outside which holds their dance floor and bar. The set up is perfect for someone wanting an indoor/outdoor wedding. Their team is also fantastic!
Melissa’s dad, and sister gave beautiful speeches along with Peter’s best man. He talked about their story and how they met (which is an amazing story by the way!) and what it meant to be a Bonnie (A graduate from St. Bonaventure). The room was filled with Bonnie’s and I kinda wish I went to their college now!! You can tell how close everyone is (check out the photo below of everyone!). All in all it was a perfect day - we even caught a sunset later at night (again- when does that happen!!!) I’m so happy for Melissa and Peter and can’t wait to see where life takes them next.
